4hrs really shouldnt be any concern. In Fact most trainers and breeders recomend some form or crate training. That pen looks big enough for most puppies. When he/she gets a little older or bigger you may want to find a top for it. You should be good.
Personally, I wouldn’t leave the dog with things like bones or rawhides since she/he will presumably be alone for a few hours and you never know. I personally like to supervise my dog when he’s chewing on a bone, they can sometimes choke. If you do leave it with a bone, make sure it is nice and solid and not hollow as it can fragment into sharp pieces. References :
Interesting toys, I would recommend. And things to keep her busy. A well stuffed Kong will last the early morning hours away. Avoid rawhides and cowhooves which have a tendency for accidents. A raw-meaty knucklebone if you have a good chewer, if not then just something like a bully stick can keep them busy. Avoid stuffed animals which the dog can unstuff and eat the insides, or pull off eyes and the like and swallow them.
I know a lot of people though who have taken something like an old pizza box and put treats inside and the dog was able to rip it apart. Depending on whether you want the mess or not, it can be a great toy for a dog. But it’s really a judgment call on your part.
Since this will be one of the first times the puppy will be on its own make sure to leave it toys and bone to keep him occupied, fresh water and a bed. References :

That looks great, be sure to include…
- Newspaper scattered on the bottom, or puppy pads (for accidents)
- Full bowl of food and water before you leave. Also treats to keep him/her busy (rawhides, kong, etc)
- A dog bed or blanket for sleeping, gotta keep the puppy comfy.
Other than that, depending on the time you leave, the pup should sleep right through the day unless s/he needs to go potty or eat/drink.
Good luck.
