What i did with my son is for the first week was asked him every 30min-1hr if he had to go potty. If he said yes we would take him to his seat and we gave him a sticker on the chart. after 2 weeks it was every 45-1hr and then after 10 stickers he went to the dollar store and got a toy. It worked great! References :
Going through the same trouble, with my 2.3 yr. old girl. I think it is just the age…and think about it…did you ever think your child would roll over, crawl, walk, talk, feed himself, run, etc? So of course if we all as parents aren’t in diapers anymore, then our children will certainly learn eventually. I sometimes feel like it will never happen and then look at all the things my girl CAN do, and I am astounded…I don’t really have any helpful hints, being that I am in the same boat, but as a guy/Dad I can tell you, the peeing on a cheerio suggestion just seems gross, and may make little Timmy dump his cheerios into the toilet bowl everymorning instead of eating them. Good luck, and remember, we all made it so they will too. (I am reminding myself too!) References :

I learned in my child psychology classes that potty training can be difficult because this is one of the only things children have control over so they try to hold on to that control. It sounds so strange to most people but I told my son that the store would no longer allow me to buy diapers because he was to old. I then spent an entire weekend in the house with him letting him run around with no underwear/diaper on. There was no way he was going to pee on the floor so he had no other choice but to use his potty. My friends laughed at me when I told them my plans to potty train him but it worked without a hitch. He was not quite 2 years old at the time. Maybe I just lucked out. Good Luck References :

Try a sticker book. Tell him when he goes in the potty, he gets to put a sticker in his book.
