I have 3 months Rajapalayam puppy, How do I train my puppy?. Give some tricks for Dog training. Can I train my puppy myself?, or I need to approch a Dog trainer or Dog training school. How much will it cost?. Please give some list of dog trainner or school in chennai. Thanks in advance.
haha. Dude. Those are so cute!
I wish I had access to one.
Start with potty training.
Pee pads may help if he doesn’t eat them.
Remove any accidents and place them outside and bring your puppy to this spot, then praise him.
Don’t scold.
When you teach him to sit, either press firmly on his bottom while you say "Sit." strongly, then treat him with praise or a biscuit.
If that doesn’t work, back him up into a wall and say "Sit." while still coming towards him. Since there’s a w all there, he has nothing else to do but sit.
You can also teach your dog to get back from something.
My dogs try to slip out the door when you leave. This is how I taught them "Back."
Walk up to an area with him near you, not leashed. Turn to him and say "Back." and stomp your foot towards him.
Do this enough times and he’ll get the hint.
You can teach him to "Go lay down" using the same concept as "Back" but pointing in the direction of his bed.
That’s usually enough for my dogs, but if you’d like more you can always consult a trainer.

I have a 13 month old puppy that was paper trained when we got here but now she goes on the carpet and the wooden floor is there a simply way to fix this we have to bring her to puppy school but have not gotten a chance yet is there something we can do it seems to be getting worse.
No mean answerer’s
thanks
My puppy is 13 weeks sorry not 13 months
Hi Lala
Have you considered crate training your puppy? You have to make sure the crate is the right size for your puppy and is just big enough for him to stand up, turn around and lay down in. Once your puppy is used to the crate and is comfortable being in there with the door closed, you can then put your puppy in his crate at night and for short periods of time when you have to leave him on his own in the house. This will help with his toilet training as dogs don’t like to soil their sleeping area.
If you get your puppy used to his crate gradually and don’t use it as a form of punishment, in time your puppy will love his crate as it will be his safe refuge where he can go and have a quiet nap undisturbed.
Have a look at the website below for some more information.
Hope that helps

hi ive got an 8 month old pitbull puppy.. i had rescued him at 4 weeks from some guys who were gona throw him as his mum died and they didnt wana raise him.. he is the first pet ive ever had because i used to be scared of dogs lol.. ive raised him well, he is super healthy and everyone on the street always stops to stroke him and he starts acting like he’s about to melt lol lol.. hes had all his jabs. as pitbulls are not allowed in my country i cant really take him to a training school so ive just trained him by reading here and there.. ive taught him to sit, lie down, come, wait (5 seconds), wait for his food.. i have a few problem areas.. sometime when i put his leash on he thinks im playing a game and play bites me and i mean play bite he doesnt want to hurt he’s just playing, also when were playing with toys sometimes he doesnt let go while playing no matter what i say until i walk away, and the biggest problem is he jumps up on me and everyone.. he;s like 30kg now so pretty heavy.. ive tried the usual ignoring, sticking a leg out blah blah but no luck, sometimes he gives up and sits but only for me or my nephew, when were on walks he wants to jump and lick peoples faces lol.. and also is there a way i can train him to poop when i want him to?? any suggestions would be much appreciated.. PLEASE do not comment saying the dogs not allowed blah blah, ive got him now, i didnt know wat he was and now that i do im not giving him away, compared to other dogs in this area hes the best behaved and if i have to pay a fine or do 6 months for him so be it..
You n eed to hire a discreet trainer to come to your home and help you out. All the breeds that fall under the Pit Bull category need an owner who knows what they are doing. Since you do not, you need to get help. You are unable to control him and this is just going to get worse.
I know you don’t want to hear it, but you need to be corrected. It isn’t about paying a fine. If you are caught, your dog will be seized and killed and you will have charges brought up against you with a possible 6 months in jail. And yes, you will be subject to a 5,000 fine.
WIth an illegal dog, how are you going to provide vet care? Not just "jabs", but regular vet care? Exams, teeth cleanings, care for illnesses? You REALLY aren’t thinking this through.

I’m getting a puppy sometime soon and I’ll be spending most of my time with her, training her and such. But when I have to go to school, would having my mom tie her outside for 5-10 minutes every two hours be alright, or do you actually have to walk them?
I know not to get pee-pads because they’ll most likely mess up the training process.
you can tie her out but i’d highly recommend walking her for 10 minutes.. the dogs need the exercise. (every hour or so)
Hope This Helps!

We also have an older dog, 10 years old and male, of the same breed. The puppy is 5 monthes old and female. For the most part the older dog tries to ignore the puppy. I am having trouble training the puppy. How can i make her do simple things like sit, stay, come, down, etc… Will puppy school be my only or perhaps best option??
dog obidence class for both of your dogs will do them some good

i just got a bichon frise last weekend but i am 13 so i have school and myy parents have work. During the week days we leave the house at 7:30 and ge back at 3:40. We are trying to crate train her so we leave her in her cage with her food and water and her toys. Problem is when we get back, she has "accidents" in her cage. And she smells bad so we have to wash her everyday. Any suggestions?
she is 13 weeks
we cant leave her outside because she hasnt had all of her vacines and there are frogs outside. Frogs’s slime is highly deathly for dogs. I have read several books about bichon frises and they all say it is okay to leave her alone for up to 7 hrs in her cage.
FYI: i didnt come her to be judged and to be told that i am being cruel to my puppy. I have been informed from many sites, books, and puppy and it is okay to leave her. I was just wondering if anyone had tips.
puppies need to be fed about 3-4 times a day, but not while no one is in the house. I wouldnt leave her food or water in her crate. just feed her in the morning, after school and dinner it will help regulate her poop/pee schedule. your puppy will have accidents till she can hold it a little longer, but good luck
dont listen to people say that they shouldnt have given you a puppy, i am single and work full time and i got my puppy when she was 8 weeks old and now she is 6 months and she is fine alone in her crate while i am at work. try to get a good toy for her i got my pooch the "everlasting treat ball" and it keeps her entertained for hours while i am gone

I have a puppy Doberman Pinscher, we’re wanting to take her to attack school when she is old enough so she can be a trained guard dog. We don’t want sissy or crappy schools, so can you suggest ones that you’ve heard of or had personal experience with in the Dallas Texas area? We want one that we don’t ship her off, but are with her throughout training.
Thanks in advance
attack…..schools…there are better names than that.
however having formerly lived in that area there use to be a rather impressive place that sold and trained dogs in Schutzhund, & bomb sniffing, i know a police officer i babysit for he has a GSD wasnt from working lines or anything but he did have some drive he took the dog their for training because if he was going to have a dog he wanted it trained right.
this is not a soft school for bunny huggers.
im not going to list it because im not sure if they even are still working,
look up "protection k9 training dallas tx" on google

I want to buy a Doberman but I want it to be an obediant nice dog. I want to send him off to a puppy school of some sort. We used to have a dog 5 years ago when i was 8. He was a lab but he always bit people and ruined my moms flowers. Then my mom gave her away. But I do not want this to happen again. So i want to enroll it to puppy training clases or puppy school(i dont know if its the same thing) but please help me and i need some in the plano, texas area. thanks…And whats the average cost of puppy school? money isnt an issue but i still need to know.
that was a type-o….i had the lab 8 years ago not 5. sorry.
ok look, even if you send a dog "away" to puppy school it will do you no good when the dog comes back. Its how the family is, not the dog. the dog is supposed to follow you, you are supposed to tell it what to do and not do. so you have to go to the classes, learn how to be a leader for the dog. otherwise the dog will dominate you like the last dog you had. Dogs read energy, if your scared the dog will take advantage of you. If the dog is scared and you sit there and pet it and talk to it, you are encouraging the dog to be scared, which causes the dog over time to become aggressive. People are truely the ones who need the training, not the dog, because once the people are trained then the dog knows who to follow. dogs want to be given direction, but too many times humans don’t give it to them. so i don’t care how much money you have, if this dog isn’t properly trained, in about 2 years your mom will probably be giving it away again.

I want to take my JRT Puppy to puppy school but i carnt find one… can anyone help me!?
i live in england…
~Poodle~…
I don’t know how close this is but the Dallas County Dog training club is great it is all volunteer work so the people teaching the classes don’t get paid for the first 8 weeks of class it is 70$ for you and the dog they have puppy classes and beginnerer and novis, intermediant, agility, and rally! I have taken the classes and I am a memeber and the way to become a memeber is to take at least 3 classes with the same dog and then if you do become a memeber you get to take as many classes as you want for 100$ a year! the second set of classes is only 60$ but you have to take the exact same dog threw I hope to see you there!

Dog behavior training is both an art and a science. Some experts say that a dog can have up to an 800-word vocabulary. I’m not so convinced of the number of words but I can verify that many of my dogs showed an uncanny ability to figure out exactly what I was trying to communicate.
One of the best dog training tips I ever got was from a neighbor when I got my first puppy. I was about 9 years old and this was the best present my parents had ever given me. My neighbor was an old hand at training dogs and had living proof in his own dog.
The first thing I did when I got Skipper (not sure why I picked that name, it just sounded right) was to rush over and show my neighbor. His name was hard to pronounce so every one in the neighborhood just called him Mr. D. So Mr. D was kind enough to run through some dog training basics and taught me a lot about how to take care of my new puppy.
Mr. D’s dog was a Jack Terrier called Willie. Willie could do any trick and would respond to almost any request. Willie pretty much had the run of the neighborhood and was known by all. In those days people just let their dog out since there were no leash laws and no one complained. My Mom often gave Willie any leftovers or a soup bones when he would stop by for a visit.
So when I showed up with Skipper, Willie was as excited as I was to have a new playmate. Skipper was a Springer Spaniel that we had rescued from the city dog pound. Skipper was probably about 6 months old but we never knew for sure since the dog pound didn’t know when he was born.
The first order of business was your basic dog house training. I got off pretty easy on this phase since Skipper seemed to prefer going outside to do his bathroom chores. From day one Skipper would go to the door and want to be let out when he needed to go.
Mr. D explained that the two most important things about any kind of dog training were rewards and repetition. The reward could be as simple as praise or a pat on the head. And that I should spend at least 30 minutes a day working with Skipper on anything I wanted to teach him to do.
So each day I would spend 30 minutes teaching Skipper how to stay, sit, fetch, and come when I called. Willie would come over and help too. I don’t know if they actually communicated but having another dog around that already knew all these tricks had to be beneficial.
Skipper also showed a high aptitude for retrieving. Of course I didn’t know at the time that he was a natural born retriever and took credit for being a great and skilled dog trainer. Once I got the basics down I worked on teaching Skipper how to heel, play dead, and not to jump on people.
Skipper started learning on his own too. When I was at school or somewhere that Skipper couldn’t go, my mother would be his next choice in companion. In those days we had what was called a Bookmobile that was a bus from the local library that would come to the neighborhood twice a week.
Skipper figured out that when the Bookmobile came he got to go for a walk with my mother. So like clockwork, Skipper would come to get my mother when it was about 2:00 pm on Tuesday and Friday. Skipper loved to go since he got to sit at the door and welcome every one that showed up each day.
Skipper also knew when it was Saturday. Saturday was grocery-shopping day and when my mother went to the store she always asked the meat department for some bones. Skipper knew that he would get his favorite snack on Saturday afternoons when my mother came back from the store.
For the next 14 years Skipper was my constant companion and escort. Skipper was an exceptional dog in disposition, learning ability, and affection. I also had a big advantage having a helpful neighbor and watching him and his dog. Mr. D and Willie were both a huge help and positive influence.
Dog training does require some dedicated effort but the rewards are more than worth the investment. My current dog, Tuxcitto, is a 24/7 project since he is a Border Collie and full of vim and vigor. But Tuxcitto is a lot like Skipper in that he is a fast learner and extremely affectionate companion.
